The 2004 Oldsmobile Alero was a compact car produced by General Motors under its Oldsmobile brand. It was part of the GM Epsilon platform, sharing its underpinnings with the Pontiac Grand Am, Chevrolet Malibu, and Saturn L-Series. The Alero was available in two body styles: a four-door sedan and a two-door coupe. It featured a sleek, contemporary design, with a distinctive grille, sculpted lines, and sporty styling cues. The interior was also well-appointed for its class, offering comfortable seating for five passengers, a user-friendly dashboard, and a range of available features such as air conditioning, power windows, and a CD player.

The 2004 Oldsmobile Alero was powered by a 2.2L four-cylinder engine, producing 140 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. The engine was paired with either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission. While not known for its exhilarating performance, the Alero offered adequate power for daily driving and reasonable fuel economy. It also boasted a comfortable ride and handling that was predictable and safe. In terms of safety features, the Alero came standard with anti-lock brakes, front airbags, and side-impact airbags. Optional features included traction control and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Although the Oldsmobile Alero was a competent and affordable car, it faced stiff competition from other compact cars in its segment and ultimately failed to achieve commercial success. The Alero's popularity declined as consumer preferences shifted towards larger, more powerful vehicles, and ultimately, the Oldsmobile brand was discontinued by General Motors in 2004.
