The 2007 Chrysler Crossfire was a two-door sports coupe produced by Chrysler from 2004 to 2008. It was a joint venture between Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz, sharing its platform and powertrain options with the Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class, but with a distinctly American design. The Crossfire's design was penned by Chrysler's design chief, Trevor Creed, and was heavily influenced by the 1950s Chrysler concept car, the "Ghia". The result was a stylish, sleek, and low-slung coupe that immediately attracted attention for its retro-modern design and its powerful performance. The 2007 Crossfire was available with two engine options: a 3.2-liter V6 engine producing 215 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque, and a supercharged 3.2-liter V6 engine producing 330 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Both engines were mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The Crossfire offered a sporty driving experience with precise handling, a responsive engine, and a comfortable interior. Despite its Mercedes-Benz heritage, the Crossfire didn't quite achieve the same level of refinement as its German counterpart, but it provided an exciting and engaging driving experience at a more accessible price point. The Crossfire, while not a commercial success, became a cult classic among automotive enthusiasts due to its unique design, its performance, and its affordability compared to its Mercedes-Benz counterpart.
