The International Harvester (IH) 71, 102, 122, and 123 tractors, commonly known as "Cub Cadets," were a series of compact utility tractors produced by International Harvester (later Case IH) from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. These tractors were designed for a wide range of tasks, from mowing and landscaping to hauling and gardening. They featured a robust, simple design, with a single-cylinder gasoline engine, manual transmission, and a variety of optional attachments. The 71 series, the first of the group, was introduced in 1966 and was powered by a 12 horsepower Kohler K161 engine. The 102, 122, and 123 followed, each offering a slightly larger engine and improved features. The 102 featured a 14 horsepower Kohler K181 engine, while the 122 and 123 models boasted a 16 horsepower Kohler K241 engine. These tractors gained popularity for their reliability, affordability, and versatility, making them a favorite among homeowners and small farmers alike.

The IH Cub Cadet tractors were known for their distinctive design, particularly the signature "Cub Cadet" badging and the bright red and yellow color scheme. They featured a comfortable, adjustable seat, a steering wheel with a convenient hand throttle, and a well-organized dashboard with essential gauges. The tractors featured a manual transmission with three forward gears and one reverse gear. The three-point hitch system allowed for the easy attachment of a wide range of implements, including mowers, snowblowers, tillers, and plows. The Cub Cadets also offered a variety of optional features, such as electric starters, power steering, and lights, allowing users to tailor the tractor to their specific needs. Despite their age, these tractors remain popular today among collectors and enthusiasts, who appreciate their durability, simplicity, and nostalgic charm. Many are still in working condition, testament to their robust construction and the enduring legacy of the IH Cub Cadet brand.
