The KIA Borrego, also known as the Mohave in some markets, is a large SUV that was produced by the South Korean automaker KIA Motors from 2008 to 2013. This model was positioned as KIA's flagship SUV, offering a spacious and comfortable interior, powerful engine options, and rugged off-road capabilities. The Borrego was designed to compete with other large SUVs like the Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Armada, and Ford Expedition, aiming to provide a compelling alternative with a higher value proposition. The 2009-2010 model years represent the first generation of this SUV, which featured a bold and imposing design with a large grille, muscular body lines, and a high ground clearance, emphasizing its off-road potential.

Under the hood, the 2009-2010 Borrego offered two engine options: a 3.8-liter V6 engine producing 276 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque, and a 4.6-liter V8 engine generating 330 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Both engines were paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and could be equipped with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive systems. The Borrego's interior was designed with comfort and functionality in mind, offering ample passenger space, a high seating position, and a variety of features, including leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, heated and ventilated seats, a sunroof, and an advanced sound system. Despite its impressive features, the Borrego faced stiff competition in the market and ultimately fell short in terms of sales compared to its rivals. However, it remains a capable and robust SUV for those seeking a spacious and comfortable ride with off-road capabilities.
