This comprehensive workshop manual provides detailed instructions and technical specifications for servicing and repairing the 1998-2003 Isuzu Trooper. It covers a wide range of topics, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, electrical systems, and bodywork. You will find detailed information on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair procedures. Each section is clearly organized and easy to navigate, with step-by-step instructions, diagrams, and illustrations to guide you through every task. This manual is an essential resource for professional mechanics, DIY enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to understand the inner workings of the Isuzu Trooper.

The 1998-2003 Isuzu Trooper, a rugged and capable SUV, marked the final generation of this iconic nameplate. While its predecessor, the second-generation Trooper, was renowned for its off-road prowess and reliability, the third generation, produced from 1996 to 2002 (and 2003 for some markets), saw a slight shift in focus. This generation focused more on on-road comfort and refinement while retaining its capability for off-road adventures. Power came from a 3.2-liter, 12-valve, naturally aspirated V6 engine producing 190 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, the Trooper offered a smooth and responsive drivetrain. Isuzu continued to offer a part-time 4-wheel drive system with a low-range gear ratio, ideal for navigating challenging terrain.

The Trooper's interior provided ample space and comfort for up to seven passengers, with cloth or leather upholstery options. It included a spacious cargo area, which could be expanded by folding down the rear seats. While the design was no longer as boxy as its older sibling, it still maintained a rugged and distinct look, featuring a large front grille, distinctive taillights, and a higher ground clearance. The Trooper offered several features and amenities including power steering, power windows, and air conditioning. Safety features included dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, and a robust frame construction. Though production ended in 2002, the 1998-2003 Trooper remains a popular choice among owners looking for a reliable, spacious, and capable SUV for both daily driving and off-road excursions.
