The Bedford Midi, also known as the Isuzu Midi or General Motors Midi, was a light commercial vehicle produced by Bedford, a subsidiary of General Motors, in collaboration with Isuzu Motors from 1980 to 1995. This van, available in both petrol and diesel variants, was designed for a variety of applications, from light delivery and transportation to tradesmen and small businesses. The 1.8L petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, provided ample power for urban driving, while the 2.0L diesel engine offered a more fuel-efficient option for longer routes and heavier loads. The Midi's chassis was robust and capable, offering a payload of up to 1.2 tonnes, while its compact dimensions and tight turning radius made it maneuverable in congested city streets.

The Midi's design focused on practicality and functionality. The van featured a spacious and versatile cargo area, accessible through large sliding doors and a rear hinged door. The driver's cabin was comfortable and well-equipped, offering a clear view of the road and easy access to controls. The Midi was available in a variety of body styles, including a van, a pick-up truck, and a chassis cab, further expanding its versatility. Despite its success, the Bedford Midi was discontinued in 1995 as Bedford ceased production. The Isuzu Midi continued to be produced in some markets, but the General Motors Midi was discontinued globally. The legacy of this robust and reliable van lives on, with many still in operation today, proving its durability and longevity as a dependable workhorse.
