The Ferrari F50 is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car that was produced by the Italian automaker Ferrari from 1995 to 1997. It was designed to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary and was the successor to the Ferrari F40. The F50 was a technological masterpiece, featuring a lightweight carbon fiber chassis, a naturally aspirated 4.7-liter V12 engine, and a six-speed manual transmission. The engine was based on the 3.5-liter V12 from the Ferrari 641 Formula One car, but it was enlarged and significantly modified for road use. It produced a staggering 513 hp (382 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 347 lb⋅ft (470 N⋅m) of torque at 6,500 rpm, allowing the F50 to achieve a top speed of over 200 mph (320 km/h).

The F50's design was heavily influenced by Formula One technology, with aerodynamic features such as a large rear wing, a diffuser, and a streamlined body. The car was also notable for its lack of power steering, air conditioning, and sound insulation. These features were intentionally omitted to keep the F50 as lightweight and as close to a pure driving experience as possible. The F50 was a limited-production model, with only 349 units ever built. It was an instant success, earning critical acclaim for its performance, handling, and exclusivity. The F50 remains a highly sought-after collectible, showcasing the pinnacle of Ferrari's engineering and design prowess.
