This manual is an invaluable resource for both experienced mechanics and DIY enthusiasts. It provides the necessary information to keep your Kia Borrego running smoothly and efficiently.

The Kia Borrego, a full-size SUV produced from 2008 to 2010, marked Kia's foray into the American large SUV market. It was essentially a rebadged Hyundai Veracruz, sharing its platform and many of its components. Despite its close relation to the Veracruz, the Borrego aimed for a more rugged and luxurious image. It featured a bold, imposing design with a large grille, muscular lines, and a commanding presence on the road. Under the hood, the Borrego offered two engine options: a 3.8-liter V6 producing 276 horsepower and a 4.6-liter V8 generating 348 horsepower. Both engines were paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and were available with either rear-wheel drive or an optional all-wheel drive system. The Borrego boasted a spacious interior with seating for up to seven passengers, comfortable leather upholstery, and a variety of convenience features including a power sunroof, heated seats, and a premium sound system.

While the Borrego possessed a number of strong attributes, including its robust design, powerful engine options, and spacious cabin, it ultimately failed to achieve commercial success. The 2008-2010 model years coincided with the global financial crisis, and the Borrego's size and fuel consumption proved a disadvantage in a market increasingly shifting towards smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles. Despite numerous attempts to attract buyers with attractive styling and a relatively affordable price point, the Borrego struggled to compete against established rivals like the Chevy Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and Toyota Sequoia. The Borrego was discontinued after the 2010 model year, leaving a void in Kia's lineup that ultimately led to the development of the larger and more fuel-efficient Telluride, which successfully entered the full-size SUV market in 2019.
