Mitsubushi RVR 1997-2002 Workshop Service Repair Manual
This comprehensive workshop service repair manual covers the Mitsubishi RVR, Space Runner, and Space Wagon models produced from 1997 to 2002. It provides detailed information and instructions for servicing and repairing these vehicles, encompassing a wide range of mechanical systems. The manual includes detailed information on the 1.8L 4G93-DOHC engine found in the Space Runner and the 2.4L 4G64-DOHC engine found in the Space Wagon. It also covers both the 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions. The manual's content is structured to guide you through various aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair. It covers general information, engine systems, including lubrication, fuel delivery, cooling, intake and exhaust, engine electrical components, engine and emission control systems, along with the clutch, manual and automatic transmissions, front and rear axles, wheels and tires, power plant mounts, front and rear suspension, service and parking brakes, steering, bodywork, exterior and interior components, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), and chassis electrical systems.

The Mitsubishi RVR, also known as the Space Runner and Space Wagon, is a compact crossover SUV produced by Mitsubishi Motors from 1991 to 2002. This vehicle was a pioneer in the crossover segment, combining the practicality of a station wagon with the ruggedness and versatility of a 4x4. The first generation RVR, introduced in 1991, was based on the Mitsubishi Colt platform and offered a compact size with a spacious interior. It was available in both front-wheel drive and 4WD configurations, featuring a 1.6-liter or 1.8-liter gasoline engine. The RVR's unique design, with its high ground clearance, boxy shape, and optional rear-mounted spare tire, made it a popular choice for both urban commuters and outdoor enthusiasts. The second generation RVR, launched in 1997, underwent a significant redesign, gaining a more rounded and aerodynamic exterior. The platform was shared with the Mitsubishi Chariot, offering a more spacious and refined interior. Powertrain options included a 1.8-liter gasoline engine, a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine. This generation RVR continued to offer both front-wheel drive and 4WD configurations, with advanced features like an optional "Super Select 4WD" system that provided superior off-road capability. Despite its popularity, the RVR was discontinued in 2002, paving the way for the new generation Outlander. However, the RVR's legacy lives on as a symbol of Mitsubishi's early dominance in the compact crossover segment. The RVR's design and features set the stage for the development of modern crossovers, showcasing the brand's commitment to versatility and practicality.
