BMW R1100RT R1100RS BIKE Repair Service Manual
This comprehensive repair service manual provides detailed instructions and specifications for maintaining and repairing the BMW R1100RT and R1100RS motorcycles. The manual covers a wide range of topics, including maintenance procedures, service data, engine components, engine electrics, fuel system, exhaust system, clutch, transmission, front suspension, rear suspension, brakes, wheels, tires, electrical system, and more. The manual is a valuable resource for anyone who owns or works on these motorcycles, offering step-by-step guidance and technical information to ensure proper repairs and maintenance.

The BMW R1100RT and R1100RS were two popular touring motorcycles produced by BMW Motorrad from 1994 to 1999. The R1100RT was designed as a sport-touring machine, prioritizing comfort and long-distance capability, while the R1100RS was a more sport-oriented model, offering more aggressive handling and performance. Both models featured BMW's iconic boxer engine, a horizontally-opposed two-cylinder design known for its smooth power delivery and reliability. The R1100RT sported a comfortable, upright riding position with a large windscreen, full fairing, and spacious saddlebags. The R1100RS, on the other hand, boasted a more aerodynamic, cafe racer-inspired design with a smaller windscreen and less wind protection. Both bikes were praised for their handling, brakes, and overall build quality, solidifying BMW's reputation for producing high-quality motorcycles. The R1100RT and R1100RS were powered by an air-cooled, 1085cc boxer engine producing around 90 horsepower and 75 lb-ft of torque. This robust engine was paired with a five-speed transmission, providing smooth and responsive performance. The R1100RT, with its focus on comfort, featured a relatively low seat height and adjustable suspension, making it accessible to a wider range of riders. The R1100RS, however, had a sportier riding position and stiffer suspension, prioritizing agility and handling. Both models adopted a mono-lever rear suspension, a feature that improved comfort and reduced maintenance. Their advanced brakes, featuring ABS as an option, provided excellent stopping power. Both the R1100RT and R1100RS were highly regarded for their reliability and longevity, offering a fulfilling ownership experience to their riders.
