The Chrysler Conquest, a sporty coupe produced from 1988 to 1990, was a unique collaboration between Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors. It wasn't a typical Chrysler creation, but rather a rebadged and slightly modified version of the Mitsubishi Starion. Though marketed under the Chrysler brand, the Conquest shared its platform, powertrain, and many design elements with its Japanese counterpart. This joint venture aimed to introduce a high-performance, stylish coupe to the American market, capitalizing on the growing popularity of Japanese sports cars.

Available in both turbocharged and naturally aspirated versions, the Conquest was known for its sleek, aerodynamic body, powerful engines, and agile handling. Under the hood, it boasted a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, generating a then-impressive 175 horsepower. The naturally aspirated variant, equipped with a 2.6-liter V6, delivered a more modest 140 horsepower. The Conquest offered a blend of performance and luxury, featuring features like leather upholstery, power windows and locks, and a premium sound system. Despite being a rebadged Mitsubishi, the Conquest carried its own identity with unique styling accents, including a distinct grille and rear end design. However, the model ultimately failed to achieve significant commercial success, its presence overshadowed by the better-established and more popular Starion.
