The Nissan L20A, L24, and L26 series engines were a family of inline-six petrol engines produced by Nissan from 1967 to 1990. These engines were known for their smooth running and relatively high power output compared to other engines of their time. They were used in a wide range of Nissan vehicles, from small sedans to larger coupes and even some commercial trucks. The L20A, introduced in 1967, was the first of the series and had a displacement of 2.0 liters. It was followed by the L24 in 1971 with a displacement of 2.4 liters and the L26 in 1972, also with a displacement of 2.4 liters. These engines shared a similar design and featured cast-iron blocks, aluminum cylinder heads, and single overhead camshafts.

The L20A, L24, and L26 series engines were known for their reliability and durability. They were also relatively fuel-efficient for their time, particularly the L24 and L26 engines which were often equipped with fuel injection systems. These engines were used in popular Nissan models like the Datsun 510, 610, 710, and 810 series cars, as well as the Skyline GT-R, and various models of the Patrol SUV. The L26 engine was particularly noteworthy for its use in the Nissan Gloria and Cedric, both of which were popular luxury sedans in Japan. While production of these engines ceased in 1990, they remain a popular choice for enthusiasts due to their simplicity, performance potential, and widespread availability of parts. For anyone working on or maintaining these engines, the Nissan Model L20A L24 L26 Series Engines Service Repair Manual is an invaluable resource providing comprehensive information for troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
