The Yamaha TDM900, and its later "P" variant, is a street-oriented adventure motorcycle that was produced by Yamaha from 2001 to 2007. Designed to handle both on- and off-road riding, the TDM900 offered a unique blend of versatility and performance. Powered by a liquid-cooled, 898cc, 90-degree V-twin engine, it produced a respectable 88 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque, making it capable for highway cruising and comfortable for sustained off-road excursions. Its fuel-injected engine provided smooth power delivery across the rev range, while its six-speed gearbox allowed for efficient gear selection.

The TDM900’s chassis was designed for stability and agility. It featured a robust steel frame, telescopic front forks, and a single-sided swingarm rear suspension. This, along with its 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, ensured handling prowess both on and off the asphalt. The bike was fitted with a comfortable seat and a well-designed windscreen, making it suitable for long-distance touring. Moreover, the TDM900 boasted a range of standard features like a luggage rack, a centerstand, and a 19-liter fuel tank, making it a practical choice for the adventurous rider. The “P” model introduced in 2004 saw a redesign of the front headlight assembly, along with minor engine revisions and suspension upgrades, further enhancing its performance and appeal. Despite its eventual discontinuation, the TDM900 remains a reliable and capable motorcycle, sought after for its versatility, comfort, and enduring performance.
