The Aprilia RST Mille Futura is a sport touring motorcycle that was produced by the Italian manufacturer Aprilia from 2005 to 2009. It was the successor to the popular RSV Mille, a supersport model, and aimed to provide a more comfortable and practical riding experience while retaining the sporty character of its predecessor. The Mille Futura is powered by a 998cc, 90° V-twin engine with a claimed output of 136 horsepower. This engine, coupled with a lightweight aluminum frame, gives the Mille Futura impressive performance with a top speed of 155 mph and a 0-60 mph time of less than 3 seconds. The Futura features a unique design that blends sportbike styling with touring features such as a large windscreen, comfortable seating, and ample storage space.
The Mille Futura's handling is praised by many for being both precise and stable. Its suspension system, composed of fully adjustable Showa forks and Sachs rear shock, offers a good balance between sportiness and ride comfort. The braking system, featuring Brembo radial calipers and twin 320mm discs, provides excellent stopping power. While the Mille Futura was a successful model with a loyal following, its production was discontinued in 2009 due to stricter emission regulations and the rise of more modern sport touring motorcycles. However, it remains a highly desirable motorcycle for enthusiasts looking for a capable and stylish sport touring machine with a unique blend of performance and practicality.
