The Ferrari 348 is a mid-engine, two-seater sports car that was produced by the Italian automaker Ferrari from 1989 to 1995. It was the successor to the Ferrari 328, and was the first Ferrari to feature a V8 engine mounted longitudinally behind the driver. The 348 was a significant departure from its predecessor in terms of styling, engineering, and performance. Despite the initial reservations from some, the 348 ultimately proved to be a successful and popular model, with over 8,000 units produced during its six-year production run. The 348 featured a sleek and aerodynamic design with distinct styling cues that set it apart from other Ferraris of the time. The car's low-slung profile, prominent air intakes, and large rear wing were all designed to maximize downforce and improve handling. The 348 was initially offered with a 3.4-liter V8 engine that produced 300 horsepower. Later models received a larger 3.5-liter engine that produced 320 horsepower. A five-speed manual gearbox was standard, while a four-speed automatic transmission was offered as an optional extra. The 348 was renowned for its responsive handling, powerful engine, and exhilarating performance. The car was capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just under 5 seconds and reaching a top speed of over 160 mph. The 348 was also available in a variety of performance-oriented variants, including the 348 Spider, 348 Challenge, and 348 GT.
