Ford FESTIVA Mazda 121 1988-1990 Service Repair Manual
This comprehensive service repair manual provides detailed information for the Ford Festiva and Mazda 121, covering models from 1988 to 1990. It includes a wealth of information, mirroring the manuals used by professional repair shops, offering in-depth guidance on various aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair. The manual covers a wide range of topics, including engine overhaul and rebuilding, brake systems, sunroof operation, timing belt replacement, troubleshooting and diagnostics, engine performance, front end procedures and specifications, suspension components, transmission information, air conditioning service and capacities, computer diagnostic codes, firing orders, detailed specifications, factory maintenance schedules and charts, serpentine belt routings with diagrams, timing belt service procedures, driving concerns, complete torque specifications, U-joint and CV-joint service procedures, repair procedures, complete wiring diagrams, and hundreds of illustrations.

The Ford Festiva and its sister model, the Mazda 121, are compact city cars that were jointly developed by Ford and Mazda in the late 1980s. They were introduced in 1988 and sold in various markets worldwide under different names, such as the Kia Pride in Korea and the Ford Aspire in some parts of Asia. The Festiva/121 was a small, economical car that was designed to be affordable and easy to drive in urban environments. It featured a distinctive boxy design with a front-engine, front-wheel drive layout. The initial model offered a 1.0 L four-cylinder petrol engine and was later expanded with a 1.3 L engine option. Despite its small size, the Festiva/121 offered a surprisingly spacious interior with comfortable seating for four passengers. It was also noted for its decent fuel economy and nimble handling, making it a popular choice for city dwellers. However, it was criticized for its lack of power, particularly in the 1.0 L engine version. Additionally, the build quality was considered to be less than stellar in some areas, resulting in a reputation for reliability issues. Nevertheless, the Festiva/121 enjoyed moderate success during its production run, selling over 700,000 units worldwide. It was discontinued in 1990, paving the way for its successor, the Ford Festiva MK2, which would further refine the concept of a compact, fuel-efficient city car.
