The Mitsubishi Endeavor, produced from 2004 to 2009, was a mid-size SUV that aimed to compete in the increasingly popular crossover market. Built on the same platform as the popular Galant sedan, the Endeavor offered a comfortable and spacious interior, with seating for five or seven passengers depending on the configuration. It was powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine, generating 225 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The Endeavor was available in four trim levels, starting with the base ES and culminating with the luxurious XLS. Standard features included power windows, locks, and mirrors, air conditioning, and a CD player. Higher trims added features like leather upholstery, sunroof, navigation system, and premium sound system. The Endeavor was praised for its smooth ride, spacious interior, and relatively powerful engine. It was also generally considered to be reliable, with a solid reputation for durability. However, it did face some criticism for its handling, which was considered somewhat uninspiring compared to some of its competitors. Additionally, the Endeavor's fuel economy was not particularly impressive, with an average of 18 mpg combined. Despite its shortcomings, the Endeavor filled a niche in the Mitsubishi lineup, offering a practical and comfortable SUV experience. The Endeavor was discontinued in 2009, replaced by the Outlander Sport, which adopted a more car-like design and focused on fuel efficiency. The Endeavor's legacy lives on as a solid, well-built SUV that provided reliable transportation for many families during its production run.
