BRICKLIN 1974-75 Workshop Manual
This comprehensive workshop manual provides detailed information for servicing and repairing the Bricklin 1974-1975 model. Expect to find in-depth coverage of all aspects of the vehicle, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical systems, and bodywork. In addition to the detailed workshop procedures, the manual includes a wealth of supplementary materials, such as service bulletins, parts catalogs, and technical articles. This all-inclusive resource is a vital tool for any mechanic, enthusiast, or owner who wants to keep their Bricklin in top condition.

The Bricklin, a peculiar and short-lived Canadian sports car, stands as a testament to both innovation and misfortune. Produced from 1974 to 1976 by the Bricklin Motor Company, this two-door, two-seater coupe promised safety, unique styling, and performance. Its most defining feature was its innovative "safety body," constructed entirely of injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced plastic. This material, known as "SMC" (sheet molding compound), offered exceptional impact resistance, making the Bricklin a pioneer in vehicular safety. The car was also notable for its gullwing doors, which opened upwards, allowing for easy entry and egress, while also adding to the car's futuristic appeal. Adding to the car's appeal was a powerful 225-horsepower AMC 360 cubic inch V8 engine, which propelled the Bricklin to a top speed of 125 mph.

Despite its potential, the Bricklin's lifespan was tragically short. Plagued by financial difficulties, lack of quality control, and a turbulent automotive market, the company struggled to achieve profitability. The car was relatively expensive, with a starting price of $6,000, which was significantly higher than its competitors. Furthermore, the Bricklin suffered from various issues, including leaks, engine problems, and a lack of dealer support. Ultimately, only 2,851 Bricklins were produced before the company went bankrupt in 1976. Although its legacy was tragically short, the Bricklin remains a fascinating artifact of automotive history, reminding us of the ambition, innovation, and struggles of a small company trying to carve its place in the competitive world of automobiles.
