The Chrysler Fifth Avenue, a full-size luxury car produced from 1989 to 1993, was the successor to the Chrysler New Yorker. It was intended to compete with premium offerings from other American manufacturers like the Buick Electra and Cadillac DeVille, aiming to offer a more luxurious and refined driving experience. The Fifth Avenue sported a distinctive, boxy design reminiscent of the era's trend towards larger, more formal luxury cars. Its long, low hood and upright grille with prominent chrome accents conveyed a sense of spaciousness and prestige. The car was available in two trim levels: the base Fifth Avenue and the upscale Fifth Avenue L, which boasted additional features such as leather upholstery, power seats, and a sunroof.

Mechanically, the Fifth Avenue rode on Chrysler's renowned "K-car" platform, known for its ruggedness and durability. Power came from a choice of two engines: a 3.3-liter V6 or a 3.8-liter V6, both mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. While not known for their sporty performance, these engines provided adequate power for the large sedan and were renowned for their reliability. The Fifth Avenue offered a comfortable and compliant ride, thanks to its soft suspension and spacious interior, further adding to its appeal as a luxurious cruiser. Despite its success in the market, the Fifth Avenue was discontinued in 1993, replaced by the Chrysler Concorde, which adopted a more contemporary and aerodynamic design. However, the Chrysler Fifth Avenue remains a significant model in the brand's history, representing a period of innovation and design refinement.
