The Daewoo Tico, a diminutive city car, was a product of the South Korean automaker Daewoo Motors, produced from 1991 to 2008. The Tico was based on the Suzuki Alto, a popular Japanese kei car, utilizing a similar platform and powertrain. Primarily marketed in South Korea, Eastern Europe, and some other parts of Asia, it garnered popularity for its affordable price, fuel efficiency, and compact size, making it particularly well-suited for urban environments. The Tico's design was simple and functional, featuring a boxy body with a high roofline, maximizing interior space for its small footprint. It was available in both three-door hatchback and five-door hatchback configurations, offering seating for four passengers.

Under the hood, the Tico was powered by a small, naturally aspirated 0.8-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, producing a modest 41 horsepower. This engine was paired with a four-speed manual transmission or a three-speed automatic transmission. Although its performance wasn't impressive, it offered surprisingly good fuel economy, achieving around 40 miles per gallon on the combined cycle. The Tico's suspension was simple yet effective, employing MacPherson struts at the front and a rigid axle at the rear. It's important to note that safety features were limited, reflecting the era in which it was built. Despite its shortcomings, the Tico was a successful vehicle for Daewoo, becoming one of their best-selling models. Its affordability and practicality made it a popular choice for budget-conscious drivers and those seeking a reliable and nimble car for urban commuting.
