The Fiat Stilo is a compact car that was produced by the Italian automaker Fiat from 2001 to 2007. The Stilo was intended to replace the aging Fiat Bravo/Brava, and was offered in both hatchback and station wagon body styles. It was a significant departure from its predecessor, featuring a more modern design, a spacious interior, and a wider range of engine options. The Stilo was known for its comfortable ride, its well-equipped cabin with features like a multi-function steering wheel and a large panoramic sunroof, and its fuel-efficient engines. It was available in several trim levels, from the basic "Dynamic" to the more luxurious "Dynamic Plus" and "Sport" editions. Certain models also benefited from a more sporty image, thanks to the inclusion of a "sport" package, featuring a revised front bumper, side skirts, and rear spoiler. The Stilo was praised by automotive journalists for its comfortable ride, its spacious interior, and its fuel-efficient engines. However, it was criticized for its somewhat bland styling, its lack of a truly exciting driving experience, and its perceived unreliability. The Stilo was never a sales success in Europe, especially when compared to its rivals such as the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, or Opel Astra, and it was ultimately discontinued in 2007. However, it was a significant car for Fiat as it helped to reestablish the brand in the compact car segment. The Stilo's legacy lives on, however, as it was built on the Fiat platform that was later used for the popular Fiat Bravo/Brava of the early 2000s and was also used in the development of the second-generation Fiat Panda.
