The Daewoo Korando is a South Korean-built compact SUV, produced by Daewoo Motor from 1996 to 2006. Initially launched as the Daewoo Musso in 1993, the Korando name was revived for a newer model in 1996, and it became the company's flagship SUV. Although classified as a compact SUV, the Korando was a relatively large vehicle, boasting a spacious interior and a rugged, truck-like exterior. It was offered with a choice of gasoline and diesel engines, and a variety of body styles, including a 3-door soft-top, a 5-door hardtop, and a 7-seater station wagon. The Korando's design, however, was somewhat controversial due to its angular, somewhat utilitarian styling, which was a stark contrast to the rounder, more aerodynamic designs of other SUVs at the time.

Despite its unique appearance, the Korando was a successful model for Daewoo, particularly in its home market and in certain European countries. It was praised for its ruggedness, off-road capability, and spacious interior. However, despite solid sales figures, the Korando faced stiff competition from other, more modern SUVs, and it was eventually discontinued in 2006, with no direct successor. The Korando nameplate was resurrected in 2011 by SsangYong Motor, a company that had purchased Daewoo's automotive division in 2002. The new Korando, however, was a completely different vehicle, based on SsangYong's own platform and design language. Despite the discontinuation, the original Daewoo Korando remains a popular choice for enthusiasts and collectors, especially for its off-road capabilities and its unique style.
