The Daewoo Korando was a compact SUV produced by the South Korean automaker Daewoo from 1983 to 2006. The name "Korando" is a combination of "Korea" and "Road." There were two generations of the Korando, the first being produced from 1983 to 1996 and the second from 1996 to 2006. The Korando was a popular vehicle in South Korea and other markets, known for its ruggedness, reliability, and its ability to handle off-road conditions. The first generation was designed and built by Daewoo's partner, the Spanish company, SsangYong, based on the early 1980s Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. The first generation was offered in several body styles including short and long wheelbase versions with both a hard-top and soft-top roof. These models were powered by a 2.3-liter petrol engine or a 2.2-liter diesel. During its run, the first generation was marketed under different brand names in different regions, Daewoo in the UK, Asia Motors in the US, and SsangYong in Europe and Australia. Although the original design was based on the G-Wagon, the styling of the Korando was updated and redesigned several times throughout its production run.

The second generation Korando was a complete redesign and included both a 4-door wagon body style and a 2-door pickup truck. The wagon body was a departure from the more traditional SUV styling of the first generation and was more closely aligned with what was becoming the popular styling of mid-size crossovers for the time. The pickup version was marketed as the "Korando Sports" and was available in both single and double cab configurations. The second generation Korando was powered by a variety of gasoline and diesel engines, including a 2.0-liter petrol engine, a 2.3-liter petrol engine, and a 2.9-liter diesel engine. The second-generation Korando was sold in several markets, including South Korea, Europe, and the Middle East. Production of the second generation ended in 2006, though the license to manufacture the Korando was sold to SsangYong, which continued to manufacture and market a version of the vehicle under its own brand name. The "Korando" nameplate has been revived by SsangYong, with the latest generation being launched in 2010.
