The Daihatsu Zebra, produced from 1993 to 1997, was a compact kei car marketed in Japan by the Daihatsu Motor Company. It represented the third generation of the Zebra line, succeeding the first-generation Zebra (1981-1986) and the second-generation Copen (1987 - 1991). The Zebra was a versatile vehicle, initially offered in both two-door and four-door configurations, and later also in a five-door wagon body style. The car was equipped with various engine options, including a 659cc inline-four petrol engine producing 41 horsepower, a 660cc inline-four petrol engine outputting 52 horsepower, and a naturally aspirated 547cc inline-three diesel engine generating 31 horsepower. These engines were paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic transmission, delivering fuel-efficient performance for the time.

The Daihatsu Zebra's design emphasized practicality and affordability. It featured a simple, functional interior with a focus on space optimization. Inside, the Zebra provided sufficient room for four passengers and cargo, while its compact dimensions made it maneuverable in tight urban environments. The Zebra became popular in Japan, particularly among city dwellers, for its affordability, practicality, and fuel efficiency. It served as a reliable and economical mode of transportation, appealing to individuals and small families who valued its value-for-money proposition. However, the Zebra was primarily targeted at the Japanese market and was not exported to other countries, making it less familiar outside of Japan. Despite its limited global presence, the Zebra remained a successful model for Daihatsu, contributing to the company's reputation for producing dependable and compact automobiles.
