The 2012 Renault Latitude is a mid-size sedan that was produced by the French automaker Renault from 2011 to 2015. It was marketed as a premium car and aimed to compete with vehicles like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. The Latitude was based on the platform of the Nissan Teana/Altima, reflecting a partnership between Renault and Nissan. It boasted a sophisticated design, featuring a distinctive front grille with Renault’s signature diamond logo, sleek headlights, and a flowing silhouette. Inside, the Latitude offered a spacious and comfortable cabin with high-quality materials and a range of features including leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium sound system.

The 2012 Renault Latitude was available with a choice of two petrol engines: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 138 hp and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 170 hp. Both engines were paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Latitude offered a smooth and refined driving experience with comfortable suspension and responsive handling. Safety features included dual front airbags, side airbags, and curtain airbags, as well as ABS, electronic stability control, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Despite its solid features and aspirations, the Latitude struggled to gain a foothold in the competitive mid-size sedan segment. It faced stiff competition from established players and ultimately did not achieve significant sales success. However, the Latitude exemplified Renault’s efforts to expand its presence in international markets with a car offering a blend of European styling and driving experience with a global appeal.
