Jaguar Mk 10 420 S-Type Parts & Workshop Service Repair Manual
This comprehensive workshop, service, and repair manual covers the Jaguar Mk10, 420G, and S-Type models produced from 1960 to 1970. The manual provides detailed instructions and diagrams for a wide range of maintenance and repair procedures. It includes sections covering general information, engine, carburetor and fuel system, cooling system, clutch, gearbox, propeller shaft, rear axle, steering, front suspension, rear suspension, brakes, wheels and tires, body and exhaust system, heating and windscreen, and electrical systems. With this manual, you will have access to the information you need to keep your classic Jaguar running smoothly.

The Jaguar Mk X, officially known as the Jaguar 420, is a luxurious saloon car that marked a departure from the sporting image previously associated with Jaguar. Produced from 1966 to 1970, it was the first Jaguar to feature a monocoque construction, replacing the traditional separate chassis. The Mk X was designed by Sir William Lyons, who was heavily influenced by the sleek, contemporary lines of American cars like the Cadillac Eldorado. This led to a more formal and grand appearance compared to its predecessors. The car featured a spacious interior with plush leather upholstery, wood trim, and generous legroom for all passengers.

Under the hood, the Mk X was powered by a robust 4.2-liter straight-six engine, boasting a smooth and powerful performance. However, the car was not as sporty as its predecessor, the Mk II, and was criticized for its heavy steering and somewhat sluggish handling. Despite its less-than-stellar performance on the road, the Jaguar Mk X was a commercial success, selling over 22,000 units during its production run. It was particularly popular among affluent businessmen and diplomats, who appreciated its opulent interior and comfortable ride. This success led to two subsequent models, the 420G and the S-Type, which carried on the Mk X's legacy of luxury and refinement.
