The Chevrolet Rodeo Amigo, produced from 1998 to 2004, was a compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) that offered a blend of rugged capability and everyday practicality. It was a rebadged version of the Isuzu Rodeo, sharing the same platform, engine options, and mechanical components. The Amigo differentiated itself with unique exterior styling, featuring a more rounded and compact design than its Isuzu counterpart. The front end sported a prominent Chevrolet grille with the iconic bowtie emblem, along with redesigned headlights and bumper. The Rodeo Amigo was available with a choice of two engines: a 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine producing 140 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.2-liter V6 engine generating 195 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. Both engines were paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission. The Rodeo Amigo offered a comfortable and spacious interior, accommodating up to five passengers. Features included a standard AM/FM radio, air conditioning, and power windows and locks. While not known for its off-road prowess, the Amigo provided adequate ground clearance and a four-wheel-drive system for light off-road adventures. Its compact size made it maneuverable in urban environments, while its cargo space offered versatility for everyday activities and weekend getaways.
