The Mitsubishi 380 is a mid-size sedan that was produced by the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors from 2005 to 2008. It was intended to replace the aging Diamante and compete with other popular mid-size sedans like the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. The 380 was based on the platform of the previous generation Galant and featured a distinctive design with a prominent grille and swept-back headlights. The 380 offered a range of powertrain options, with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine being the standard offering, producing 162 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. A 3.8-liter V6 engine was also available, delivering 217 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. Both engines were paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.

The Mitsubishi 380 was equipped with a comprehensive suite of features, including power windows and locks, air conditioning, an AM/FM radio with a CD player, and multiple airbags. Higher trim levels added features like leather upholstery, a sunroof, and a navigation system. Although the 380 was intended to be a successful model for Mitsubishi, it failed to capture the attention of buyers in the competitive mid-size sedan market. It was criticized for its bland styling, lackluster performance, and perceived lack of value compared to its rivals. The 380 was discontinued in 2008 after just three model years in production. Despite its short lifespan, the 380 remains a significant chapter in Mitsubishi's history as an attempt to enter a key segment of the global automotive market. It serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by automakers in developing vehicles that resonate with consumers in a rapidly evolving industry.
